Partner to the world's leading manufacturers
Mining Market
The mining industry operates in some of the toughest conditions on earth. Equipment runs 24/7 in extreme temperatures, corrosive environments, and handles massive loads that would break standard machinery. From copper mines in Chile to iron ore operations in Australia, mining equipment faces relentless stress cycles that demand components built to last.
At Setforge, we understand what mining equipment really needs. Our forge expertise comes from decades of working with OEMs who build excavators, haul trucks, and crushing equipment for the world’s toughest mining operations. We produce forged components, up to 1500 kg, for all types of mining machinery, from underground loaders to massive surface mining equipment. Our 360° approach covers from co-design to finishing operations, internally or with selected partners, with particular attention to customer service and on-time delivery. Every forged and machined part we make is designed to keep mining equipment running in conditions where downtime costs thousands per hour.
One partner. At every step.

POWERTRAIN
Mining equipment powertrains operate under exceptionally demanding conditions, with high loads sustained over long periods and wide torque variations. Driveline components must maintain their performance through intensive cycles, impacts and temperature extremes, in open-pit and underground mines alike. Our hot and cold forging capabilities produce gears, shafts and other driveline components with high mechanical integrity and a strong strength-to-weight ratio. Controlled material flow orients the grain structure along each part's geometry and main loads, supporting performance under high torque and cyclic loading. From gears for underground loaders to driveline parts for high-capacity mining trucks, our components are built to withstand extended duty cycles. Their reliability contributes directly to equipment availability, particularly where downtime can severely disrupt production.

HYDRAULICS
Hydraulic systems in mining equipment transmit enormous forces and operate at high pressures. In environments laden with abrasive dust, protecting circuits from contamination and controlling functional surfaces are essential to limit wear, preserve sealing and maintain cylinder performance. Forging produces components with the mechanical strength to withstand pressure fluctuations and repeated cycles. Final dimensional accuracy and surface quality then depend on control of the full process, from forming through machining and finishing. Using our hot forging, hot extrusion, electrical-upsetting and upsetting processes, we manufacture components in a wide range of sizes, including cylinder rods up to 5 meters long. We supply hydraulic parts for many types of mining machinery, notably tunnel boring machines and large excavators.

DRILLING EQUIPMENT
Components used in ore extraction, crushing and handling face high levels of abrasion, impact and repeated loading. Bucket teeth, cutting edges, extraction tools and certain crushing components must retain their geometry and effectiveness while continuously processing large volumes of rock and ore. Performance here rests on a precise balance of hardness, toughness, impact resistance and wear resistance. Our forging expertise, combined with steel selection and tailored heat treatments, develops the mechanical characteristics required by each part's function and operating conditions. Near-net-shape manufacturing optimizes material distribution, reduces waste and limits the amount of material removed during machining. It helps control manufacturing costs while making it easier to produce components whose geometry matches their function. On remote mining sites, any failure can cause extended downtime and sharply higher intervention costs. Component durability is therefore essential to preserving equipment availability and operational continuity.
