On December 8th and 9th, Setforge hosted the second edition of Tech Days in Clermont-Ferrand. This event brought together teams from Farinia Group companies, Setforge and FMGC, around a central theme: artificial intelligence applied to industry.
A PRAGMATIC APPROACH TO INDUSTRIAL AI
Held at Hall 32 in Clermont-Ferrand, this event demonstrates our commitment to taking concrete action in digital transformation. As Didier Henry, Director of Setforge Engineering, explains: "Our approach within the Farinia Group is pragmatic: we don't do AI for AI's sake, but to strengthen our competitiveness, optimize our productivity, accelerate our continuous improvement projects, and capitalize on expertise."
This philosophy translates into concrete, measurable applications in our plants every day.

CONCRETE USE CASES ALREADY DEPLOYED
Tech Days 2 showcased numerous AI use cases already operational across our production sites:
- Product deformation prediction
- Heat treatment rework prevention
- Generative AI tools and AI agents
- Electrical consumption reduction
- Predictive process control
- Smart vibration sensors
ENRICHING EXCHANGES WITH OUR TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS
The two days featured plenary sessions and showroom workshops led by our partners. Michelin opened the discussions by sharing their inspiring vision of large-scale digital transformation. Keyence demonstrated how visual inspection automation can enhance quality, while Dimeo (Innoteo) presented their solutions for digitalizing operational expertise. fabriq illustrated performance improvement through digital lean management, and Vitesse Automation detailed their approach to intelligent industrial data deployment. AI-powered risk prevention was addressed by Cikaba, while Akéa Énergies showcased their energy management solutions. Finally, Fit Robotique presented their collaborative mobile robots in real-world conditions. The program was enriched by a presentation of Hall 32 and a visit to the Michelin Museum, offering a welcome cultural break between technical sessions.
A DATA CULTURE AT THE HEART OF OUR STRATEGY
These two days provided an opportunity to collectively build the data culture we want to establish throughout the Group. Hervé Gestas, CEO of Setforge, emphasizes: "Tech Days 2 marks a real turning point: we're laying the foundations for AI's future in our Group. Every discussion from these two days will shape tomorrow's successes."
This collective approach aims to foster continuous innovation and operational excellence across all our teams.
TOWARD A MORE EFFICIENT AND COMPETITIVE INDUSTRY
These technical days confirm our commitment to the digital transformation of forging. By combining our expertise with technologies like artificial intelligence, we're advancing toward a more efficient and competitive industry. The Tech Days evnt is establishing itself as a regular gathering for our teams, enabling us to share innovations and accelerate the deployment of concrete solutions in our plants.
