Partner to the world's leading manufacturers
Ropeway Transport Market
Ropeways and cable transport systems require components that perform durably under repeated loads while meeting particularly high safety standards. From ski-resort chairlifts to urban gondolas, aerial tramways and material ropeways, this equipment faces intensive operating cycles and variable environmental conditions. In the mountains, components must withstand cold, moisture, wind, snow and temperature swings. In urban settings, they must also fit demanding operating schedules, with high expectations for availability and passenger comfort. Smooth operation depends directly on the strength, precision and durability of the mechanical elements.
At Setforge, we work closely with ropeway manufacturers to develop components for drive systems, grip mechanisms, tower attachments and the installation's various mechanical assemblies. We forge parts in steel, aluminum and special alloys, in weights ranging from 0.1 kg to 1,500 kg. Our support spans traditional mountain applications as well as new urban cable transport solutions, from initial design through component industrialization.

Reliability and Industrial Expertise
Forging helps reduce certain porosities and achieve the material continuity that critical mechanical functions require. Orienting the grain flow along the geometry and applied loads improves the impact resistance and fatigue performance of components exposed to countless operating cycles.
Forging, machining and finishing are performed in our facilities or with partners selected to suit the project. This organization allows critical characteristics to be tracked, operations to be fully traceable, and parts to be delivered in compliance with technical specifications and applicable regulatory requirements. In a ropeway sector marked by tight installation schedules, our industrial expertise, responsiveness and delivery reliability help meet each project's quality, safety and lead-time targets.
